How to Pick a Trunk Lock

Locked trunks can be a pain, especially when you can’t find the key. If you ever find yourself in that situation, don’t panic! You can actually pick your trunk’s lock yourself in no time.

Tools Needed

  • Slim Jim
  • Pair of Needle-Nose Pliers
  • Car Lockout Toolkit (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slide your Slim Jim in between the window and the rubber weather stripping.
  2. Work the Slim Jim up and down a few times until it catches a latch or hook.
  3. Use the needle-nose pliers to grab the latch or hook, and turn it to unlock the trunk.
  4. If a Slim Jim and needle-nose pliers are not available, there are many car lockout tools available online.

Picking a truck lock is a lot easier than you might think. With a few simple tools and some patience, you can easily get back into your trunk in no time.
